According to BBT Tech News,Amazon is reportedly developing a pair of smart glasses powered by its virtual assistant, Alexa. Resembling a regular pair of glasses, Amazon’s version will use bone-conduction for transmitting sound instead of conventional earphones or headphones.
Google Glass’ founder Babak Parviz has been a key contributor to the project since he was hired by Amazon in 2014. The glasses will, however, omit any screen or camera, relying solely on voice interactions with Alexa.
The report further adds that these glasses could launch with the updated lineup of Echo products this year, as the previous gen Echo devices have been out of stock for a while.
